We offer nutritional counseling for weight management, whether a patient is seeking to gain or lose weight. We also provide guidance on proper nutrition for vegetarians as well as healthy eating for general well-being. Additionally, upon request, we can help coordinate a consultation with the Diabetes Education Program for diabetes counseling.

Our Nutrition Services are typically covered by insurances and offer payment plans. Referrals are required. We can help obtain a referral from your primary care physician or specialist. To get started, call (410)-641-9568.

FAB- Food, Activity, Body Image- Pediatric Weight Management Group Class

The FAB program is a pediatric weight management class that addresses Food, Activity and Body Image. Classes are held weekly for 4 consecutive weeks, and a new session begins each month (as participation allows). Children and parents are required to attend all four weeks, as each class addresses a new topic. The class is designed for children ages 8-12.

The Teen FAB Program

The Teen FAB program is a weight management class that addresses Food, Activity and Body Image. The class provides hands on activities for teens and a safe environment to discuss weight difficulties. Classes are held weekly for 4
consecutive weeks, and a new session begins each month (as participation allows).
The class is designed for teens ages 13-17.

Healthway Drive Community Garden

The Helathway Drive Community Garden gives members of the community the opportunity to volunteer and gain access to more nutritious food options. For more information on the garden and other ways to access fresh local produce, click here.


Our Nutrition Services Team

AMANDA BUCKLEY, RD, LDN

Amanda Buckley, RD, LDN is a licensed and registered dietitian providing clinical counseling, training, and education in food and nutrition. She has a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management. Amanda completed nutrition coursework and research at James Madison University, University of London, Birkbeck, and University of Ghana, Legon, completing a BS in Nutrition at University of Maryland Eastern Shore, culminating in a comprehensive dietetic internship through Iowa State University, and MBA through Salisbury University. She currently works as Clinical Nutrition Services Coordinator for inpatient and outpatient services at Atlantic General, as well as lending expertise to Bariatric Services. Amanda is a native of the Eastern Shore.

KATIE DORSCH, RD, CSO

Katie Dorsch is a registered dietitian with Atlantic General Hospital. She currently works with adult and pediatric outpatients in both the Atlantic Health Center and the John H. ‘Jack’ Burbage, Jr. Regional Cancer Care Center. She graduated with her degree in dietetics from the University of Northern Colorado in 2012 before completing her internship with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. She began her career as a clinical dietitian before transitioning to working in outpatient oncology and becoming a Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition. Katie enjoys helping others fuel their lives with food and nourishment.

ELAINA GADEN, RD, LD

Elaina is a licensed and registered dietitian for inpatient services. Elaina earned her undergraduate degree in dietetics from the University of Delaware and completed her dietetic internship with Sodexo in Orlando, FL. Elaina has previous experiences working with Nemours A.I DuPont Children’s Hospital, SodexoMAGIC, and Oviedo Medical Center. She currently sees patients admitted to the hospital.
