Pricing Tool

Click here to use our Pricing Tool. You can use it as a guideline to find out our standard pricing for all of our services, and also for 300 of our most common services (called Shoppable Services).

Click here to download the chargemaster for Atlantic General Hospital and Health System, which is is a comprehensive listing of all billable services to a patient or a patient's health insurance provider.

Click here to download a file of additional shoppable services currently not available in our pricing tool. This file includes negotiated Part B (non-facility) charges and the portion of the shoppable services CMS mandates for reporting for price transparency that Atlantic General Hospital and Health System does not provide. We continue to build out our price transparency tool to incorporate this information in a more user-friendly format.

Please bear these tips in mind:

  • If possible, search by CPT code. Searching by the specific procedure code, rather than service description, will give you a more accurate estimate.
  • Choose Payor and Choose Payor: What is this for? The tool allows you to select up to two insurance plans from the dropdown menus. This is so you can compare pricing between plans.
  • Payor name may not be the same as shown on your insurance card. For example, if you’re looking for Medicare Part A, select Novitas Solutions. For Medicare Part B, select Novitas Solutions, Inc.
  • These are only estimates and can change without notice. The actual charge for your test, procedure or visit may be higher or lower depending upon the care you actually receive.
  • Estimates for a particular service don’t include your physician or advanced practice provider’s (mid-level) professional fee, which may be included in the final bill.
  • Other factors of your care will impact your bill. The final bill will depend upon the length of time spent in surgery or recovery, whether more testing is ordered by the physician, and/or additional care is provided for unexpected conditions, new diagnoses, or complications.
  • Your portion of the cost depends upon your insurance plan. This estimate is reflective of the rate for a certain service. It does not reflect your estimated out-of-pocket expense or the amount you may be responsible to pay. Any deductibles and co-insurance required by your plan, along with any payments you’ve made toward your annual deductible during the year, will affect how much you would owe. To get a specific estimate tailored to your situation, Request an Estimate or call 410-641-5990.
  • Hospital rates in the state of Maryland are regulated by an independent state agency called the Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC). For hospital services, this means we charge all payors (insurance companies and individuals) the same. All payors pay the charged amount.
  • For our Atlantic General Health System physician offices, our Women’s Imaging Center in West Ocean City, and our Burbage Regional Cancer Care Center, we negotiate the charges for care provided. The amount paid by your insurance varies, depending on your specific insurance plan.
  • The pricing tool does not include fees for our AGHS medical staff who provide care in the office practice setting. It only applies to bills for Atlantic General Hospital. It does not include fees for any independent providers involved in your care. When receiving care at Atlantic General Hospital, you may also receive separate bills from providers such as a/an:
    • Emergency Room physician
    • Radiologist (the doctor who reads and interprets the results of x-rays and other imaging tests)
    • Pathologist (the doctor who provides the results of laboratory testing and biopsies of tissues removed during surgeries, colonoscopies, and other procedures)
    • Hospitalist (inpatient care specialist)
    • Anesthesiologist
    • Surgeon
  • The Chargemaster is provided within the pricing estimator tool. This is a comprehensive listing of all billable services to a patient or a patient's health insurance provider for the hospital and health system, and is available in a machine-readable format. Click here to download.
