ATLANTIC GENERAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION RECEIVES DONATION FROM WILDE CHARITABLE FOUNDATION

Berlin, Md. – The Atlantic General Hospital Foundation recently received a generous donation of $50,000 to be used for the programs and services offered by the hospital, as well as toward the Campaign for the Future, its $10 million philanthropic community support initiative.

Wilde shared, "Hugh F. Wilde Sr. started the Wilde Charitable Foundation to support organizations which greatly impact the communities they serve. The foundation has supported Atlantic General Hospital for 13 years. The Wilde Charitable Foundation recognizes the value of, and supports, having a local hospital in Worcester County. With our pledge, we hope to aid the hospital in their expansion of the existing facilities and the addition of state of the art practices and technology."

The Wilde family has a long-standing history in Berlin and Ocean City and continues to operate several commercial properties in the Ocean City area. Atlantic General Hospital sits on what was Wilde's great uncle Powell's dairy farm. His grandfather, Hugh F. Wilde Sr., was raised in Baltimore city and moved to Ocean City after serving in the Air Force.

The funds raised during the Atlantic General Campaign for the Future will allow Atlantic General Hospital to complete $35 million in capital projects planned under the organization's 2020 Vision five-year strategic plan. Among them is construction of a new 18,000-square-foot full service cancer care center, completion of a women's health center in West Ocean City, renovation of existing surgical facilities and expansion of emergency services within Atlantic General Hospital as well as improvements to inpatient care areas.
