Psychiatrist Joins AGH Outpatient Behavioral Health Program

Atlantic General Hospital is pleased to announce that psychiatrist Kenneth
Widra, M.D., has joined Atlantic General Hospital’s Behavior Health
Program. He works in coordination with the program’s licensed clinical
social worker and mental health nurse as well as the telemedicine services
of Sheppard Pratt Health System to provide outpatient mental health and
substance abuse services to the community.
Widra served for nearly eleven years as outpatient psychiatrist and medical
director for the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Community Service Board in the
Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. In his capacity as an outpatient psychiatrist
in public and private practice, Widra treated a broad range of disorders,
including mood and anxiety disorders, thought and personality disorders,
alcohol and substance abuse, child and adolescent issues including ADHD,
and complications of medical illnesses. Widra originally hails from Chicago
and received his B.A. in psychology from the University of Illinois and
a master’s degree in experimental psychology from University of
South Florida-Tampa, before obtaining his medical degree from University
of Illinois-Chicago. He completed his residency in psychiatry at Medical
College of Virginia and his M.B.A. from James Madison University-Virginia.
He is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
