AGH Wound Care Center Receives Center of Excellence Award for Third Year in a Row
06-04-2012
Atlantic General Hospital physicians, leaders, and clinicians gathered
recently to celebrate the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence
Award, which was given to the AGH Wound Care Center because it has met
the Center of Distinction quality standards for at least two consecutive years.
This marks the fourth year that Atlantic General met the standards, which
include patient satisfaction rates over 92 percent and at least a 91 percent
healing rate in 30 median days, among other quality standards.
The Center was awarded this prestigious honor by Healogics™ (formerly
Diversified Clinical Services, Inc.), the nation's leading wound care
management company.
The Wound Care Center is a member of the Healogics™ Clinical Network
of more than 500 centers, with access to benchmarking data and experience
of treating over two million chronic wounds. Fewer than 10 percent of
centers in the network received this award.
At the Wound Care Center, more than 1200 patients to date have been provided
specialized treatment, often preventing amputations and helping patients
return to active lives.
“We are thrilled to accept these awards year over year, and proud
to offer this quality Center to our community,” said Michael Franklin,
CEO of Atlantic General Hospital.
“We’re honored,” said Geri Rosol, program director at
the Wound Care Center, “It’s a privilege to be part of a great
collaborative effort between Atlantic General and Healogics. Together,
we are able to heal patients in our community, getting them get back to
living happy, healthy lives.”
