Open House Held for New Breast Surgery Practice Location

Dr. Kertrisa McWhite moves to the new James G. Barrett Medical Office Building

Area healthcare providers and members of the community recently attended an open house to celebrate the relocation of Dr. Kertrisa McWhite’s breast care services practice to the new James G. Barrett Medical Office Building in Berlin. The building, open since July, is located on Atlantic General Hospital’s campus at the entrance of Healthway Drive.

Dr. McWhite previously met with her patients inside Atlantic General Hospital’s Women’s Diagnostic Center and moved to the new office to take advantage of the larger consultation and exam room space needed for her growing practice. The spacious suite will give her the ability to perform more breast biopsies and other simple procedures herself from within the office, a reassurance to patients who take comfort in an established relationship with a healthcare provider in a familiar setting.

Dr. McWhite joined Atlantic General Hospital in the spring of 2006 after completing a Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern. She offers cancer risk assessments, screenings for high-risk patients, and the latest in breast conserving surgeries for women and men diagnosed with breast cancer.

Dr. McWhite’s presence in Suite 201 of the Barrett Medical Office Building is a valuable initial component to the future Atlantic General Hospital Women’s Health Center, which will include a wide array of women’s services including gynecology, nutritional guidance and holistic health treatments.

For more information or to schedule an appointment at Dr. McWhite’s new office location, patients and health care providers are asked to call 410-629-6888.

About the James G. Barrett Medical Office Building
The Atlantic General Hospital Corporation built the Barrett Medical Office Building to encourage healthcare providers to open their practices in the area and to provide patients with a convenient location for a variety of outpatient services.

Currently, the Barrett Medical Office Building houses a Coastal Drug HealthMart and Coffee Beanery, Chesapeake Eye Center, and Dr. McWhite’s breast care services practice. In coming months, Atlantic General Hospital’s new Wound Care Center, Inc. and Endoscopy Center will open, as will the new office location for Neurological Associates.
