Munna Garg, M.D., a physician with the Ocean Pines Primary Care Office,
recently earned his board certification from the American Board of Pediatrics.
Until 2005, when Garg joined the Atlantic General Health System practice,
the area offered little specialized care for infants and children. He
is currently Worcester County’s only full-time pediatrician.
Garg completed a special, four-year dual residency program at West Virginia
University that focused on both pediatrics and internal medicine. This
type of residency is often used as a launch pad for a career in general
practice, but Garg chose to immerse himself in the two subspecialties
and is now board certified in both.
“Training in both pediatrics and internal medicine allowed me to
follow my interest in family medicine while intensifying the focus on
the various illnesses and healthcare issues that are unique to children
and those that are unique to, let’s say, their grandparents,”
said Garg.
Garg is currently accepting new patients in the Ocean Pines practice, which
is located on Racetrack Road. Patients may call the Centralized Scheduling
Line at 410-641-1082 to schedule an appointment.
