Swim scheduled for 1 p.m. on New Year’s Day, registration begins at noon
The beachfront of the Princess Royale Hotel on 91st Street in Ocean City
will be crowded once again with hundreds of Penguin Swim participants
and spectators ready to cheer them on as the penguins plunge into the
icy Atlantic on New Year’s Day.
With just 12 days remaining until the New Year and everything that means
to Atlantic General Hospital supporters, there is still time to raise
money and join a team.
Wonderful prizes will be awarded to our brave Penguins for getting wet
for a good cause. First, second and third place trophies will also be
awarded to individual penguins who raise the most money as well as to
teams of penguins who raise the most money. Special recognition will also
be given to the youngest and oldest penguin.
This fun-filled family event is sponsored this year by Arby’s of
Salisbury, Dough Roller Restaurant, Wal-Mart, the Guerrieri Family Foundation,
Delmarva Power, Peninsula Rehab and Sports Medicine, Red Sun Custom Apparel,
Bull on the Beach, Fisher’s Popcorn, and the Princess Royale Oceanfront
Hotel & Conference Center.
All teams are encouraged to pre-register and contact the hospital’s
development office at 410-641-9644 as soon as possible to receive team
registration information and sponsorship packets. This information can
also be found online at www.atlanticgeneral.org.
