02-24-2006
Atlantic General Hospital associates and friends recently gathered at the
Green Turtle in West Ocean City for a good game of pool to raise funds
for Atlantic General’s James G. & Nancy W. Barrett Scholarship Program.
The 2nd Annual Atlantic General Hospital Pool Tournament raised more than
$500.00 to benefit the scholarship fund, which provides fully paid tuition
and books for selected applicants who are earning a degree in nursing,
in return for their agreement to work at the hospital after graduation
and certification.
The winners of the tournament were Dr. Jason Clem, a family doctor at
the Townsend Medical Center on 10th Street in Ocean City, first place
for 8-ball; AGH Vice President of Finance Cheryl Nottingham, second place
for 8-ball; Al Celia, first place for 9-ball; and Christian Castaneda,
second place for 9-ball. The Team Challenge 8-ball winners were Dr. Roy
Cragway, a physician at the Townsend Medical Center and organizer of the
event, and Red Salyers.
