Atlantic General Hospital recently appointed or re-appointed the following
physicians at the hospital and Atlantic General Health System (AGHS):
Christian D. Bounds, M.D.,
a cardiologist and graduate of the University of Maryland. Bounds completed
his residency at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore,
Md. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and
the American Board of Internal Medicine/Cardiovascular Disease.
Wendy Fitzgerald, C.R.N.P., is a health system affiliate and works as a Certified Registered Nurse
Practitioner. She is a graduate of Wilmington College and completed her
internship at Atlantic General Health System. Fitzgerald is board certified
by the American Board of Nursing Specialties and the Maryland Board of Nursing.
Karen A. Mull, PA-C, works as a physician’s assistant and has been re-appointed as a
health professional affiliate. She is a graduate of Duke University. Mull
is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician
Assistants, Inc.
Jon A. Newsome, M.D., works as an anesthesiologist at Atlantic General Hospital. He is a graduate
of Mehary Medical College in Nashville, Tenn., and completed his residency
at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. Newsome is board certified by the
American Board of Anesthesiology.
Alan M. Patchan, M.D., works as anesthesiologist at Atlantic General Hospital. He is a graduate
of Georgetown University. Patchan completed his residency at George Washington
University Hospital in Washington, D.C. and a fellowship at Boston University
School of Medicine in Boston, Mass. He is board certified by the American
Board of Anesthesiology.
Sean M. Shockey, M.D., works as an anesthesiologist at Atlantic General Hospital. He is a graduate
of The Uniformed Services University of Health Services. He completed
his internship at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Wash. and his
residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Shockey
is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Eric J. Weaver, M.D., is a health system affiliate in pathology. He is a graduate of Jefferson
Medical College. Weaver completed residency at Thomas Jefferson University

Clark Willis, M.D., is a health systems affiliate in Emergency Medicine. He is a graduate
