November 3, 2005 -- Atlantic General Hospital announced today that due to the overwhelming
response from the community to its initial free flu shot clinics, all
future scheduled clinics have been cancelled.
In cancelling the November 5 clinic scheduled at the hospital and the November
10 clinic scheduled in Pocomoke, hospital officials confirmed receipt
of 4,250 vaccinations of the original 5,000 ordered by the hospital.
To date, Atlantic General Hospital has provided more than 2,600 free vaccinations
during the October 15 and October 29 clinics held at the hospital and
the Snow Hill clinic held November 3. Atlantic General Hospital has also
provided an additional 1,000 vaccinations to its Atlantic General Health
System offices, 450 vaccinations to healthcare providers and volunteers,
and an additional 100 doses to inpatients.
Atlantic General Hospital is pleased to provide this public service and
will notify the community if additional vaccinations are received, allowing
for future clinics.
